Wish you all a very Happy Independence Day, Jai Hind!

On our 74th Independence day, We at NITIE organized a virtual meet to commemorate the occasion and also launch our annual "Maha Mandi" event of 2020. We were joined today by 2 esteemed guests Mr. Abhay Jire, the CIO of the Ministry of Education, and Mrs. Apeksha, Founder of "Zyka ka Tadka", also our alumnus. Few ideas that both our guests spoke about really struck a chord with me. I would love to share them with you all.

"We need more Job creators than Job Seekers"

Mr. Abhay Jere commended NITIE for having been a pioneer in organizing an event like Maha Mandi in which students actually participate. He also lauded our institution for having supported start-ups in a big way. He emphasized on the need for more such initiatives and building new startups, which India is capable of.

"India is a land of opportunities"

Mrs. Apeksha shared with us her experience in having worked with reputed brands like P&G and her experience abroad. She pointed out that in spite of this, she strongly feels that our country provides opportunities to build businesses like no others. She further went on to talk about how diverse our land is and how different people need different things and thus an opportunity is born at every corner for a new business. This is further backed by the fact that India is an emerging economy but with increasing penetration, high investment rates, and rapid digitalization will sustain higher economic growth in the coming years.

"There is hardly anything that you cannot make a business out of"

Mrs. Apeksha also shared with us a few examples of how she sees business opportunities in everything around her, even in the room that she was sitting in while interacting with us. She emphasized the need to observe our surroundings and to be able to think of creative business ideas. She also shared with us her experience in the Maha Mandi event during her college days and how it played a pivotal role in her life.

This event was hosted by our very own beloved T.Prasad sir. This was just the motivation I needed to embark on my own journey to find something that I am passionate about and to build a business around it. I hope to learn more in my days at NITIE and to grow into a responsible professional and the Maha Mandi event is the right platform to start.
